This surreal documentary about the Japanese photographer Izima Kaoru, explores the artistic process and universal themes that define his oeuvre: life, death, and beauty. In addition to observing the creation of four new 'corpse” series (staged death scenes, based on a model’s wishes,) actresses explain why they've chosen to participate in the controversial project; unearthing stories behind previous 'fashion death' photos from fasion magazines and other photographs, exposing very real encounters with death. In the end, we learn how the artist has used photography to overcome his own fear of dying. The production of this film took place in seven countries over six years and features a soundtrack by Sun Airway.
